salvation- to be saved; death to and freedom from sin; a spiritual birth, a birth from above without which one cannot enter the kingdom of heaven to live eternally. God's sovereign and gracious choice to be "God with us" in the person of Jesus Christ, who is described as both author and mediator of salvation. Jesus said salvation requires belief in Him: repentance (to change your mind) followed by faith.
BELIEF is required, but thinking that your belief is what saves you is
nothing but SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS, which is the core of man-made religion (that self plays a role in any of it). When the finished work is UNVEILED to an individual.... belief is the RESULT of it. RECEIVING IS NO DIFFERENT!! When it comes to faith, there is only "THE" Faith. We do not have our own faith. It is a gift given by The Father... when Father gives revelation to an individual, it's "THE" Faith, is what has been given to that individual. And belief is a by-product (a result of) The Faith.
A gift of grace through faith not of works. The Good News of the Gospel is that one hears it, then believes it in the heart and realizes salvation through Christ. Christ was crucified and died for all of our sins: past, present and future. From the Greek words soter meaning a savior, deliverer and soteria meaning deliverance, salvation.
Salvation is a person not a place. That person is Jesus Christ and He is living inside us right now and eternally. Salvation for all mankind happened on the cross. Jesus is the Savior of ALL mankind (1 Timothy 4:10).
All will believe in the end. Every knee will bow and every tongue will praise God.
There are 49 New Testament references in the NASB version.
Romans 1:16-17 Paul says, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, 'But the righteous man shall live by faith.'
Ephesians 1:4-13 Paul says, "Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace which He lavished on us. In all wisdom and insight He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth. In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will, to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ would be to the praise of His glory. In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation-having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,"
Ephesians 6:16-18 Paul says, "in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. With all prayer and petition pray at all times, in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints."
1 Peter 1:3-5 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."
