sanctification- from the Greek words hagiazmos meaning holiness and hagios meaning a separation; the act of God's grace by which the affections of men are purified, or alienated from sin and the world, and exalted to a supreme love to God; also, the state of being thus purified or sanctified; the act of consecrating or setting apart. 8 New Testament references in the NASB version (Romans 6:19, Romans 6:22, 1 Cor 1:30, 1 Thes 4:3, 4:4, 4:7, 2 Thes 2:13, Heb 12:14)
1 Cor. 1:30 "But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and santification, and redemption,"

Romans 6:19, Paul says, "I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, resulting in further lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness, resulting in sanctification. For when you were slaves to sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. Therefore what benefit were you then deriving from the things from which you are now ashamed? For the outcome of those things is death. But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus, our Lord.

Hebrews 10:10, "By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all."
We are sanctified by the blood of Christ. Amen! :-)
Hebrews 10:14, "For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified."
We are holy because He is holy. For as He is in this world, so also are we.
There is no such thing as progressively becoming more sanctified. Where this teaching goes astray is confusing the transformation process with sanctification. Our minds are renewed to the reality of who we already are. This is a process that takes time which could look like we are being progressively sanctified. The reality is the mind is catching up with who we already are in Him. The renewal process is the realization of that fact in our minds. So awesome! :-)

Romans 12:2, "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."
2 Corinthians 3:18, "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit."
Thank you, Jesus! :-)
2 Corinthians 3:18, "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit."
Thank you, Jesus! :-)
