February 20 Day 51
Rightly Divide the Word

2 Timothy 2:15-16, Paul wrote, "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. But avoid worldly and empty chatter, for it will lead to further ungodliness."
Paul is sharing the importance of rightly dividing the word of truth. The Bible can be confusing when read out of context or with a certain bias. Religion has created so many concepts that differ from the original translations.
"It shall greatly help you understand Scripture if you mark not only what is spoken or written, but of whom, and to whom, with what words, at what time, where, to what intent, with what circumstances, considering what goes before and what follows." - John Wycliffe
